Amazon Pay’s mission is to be the preferred payment method for Amazon customers, everywhere they shop. With Amazon Pay we connect merchants with any Amazon customer in the world, delivering identity and payment services that remove friction for consumers and help merchant grow their sales. Our objective is to make Amazon Pay a ubiquitous payment option for customers. Today Amazon Pay is available in 18 countries, enabling merchants to leverage our trusted, seamless buying experience to allow more than 300 million active Amazon customers to purchase from them. In 2024 we embarked on an exciting 5-year plan that allows us to better serve our customers and will increase our presence by 30x.

We are seeking a Program Manager (preferably a German speaker) to drive adoption and retention of Amazon Pay for small to medium-sized businesses (SMBs) through scalable programs. Reporting to the Head of SSR in EU, you will own the execution strategy to attract high-growth SMBs, increase our penetration in this critical merchant segment across EU and US markets, and resolve key pain points to improve merchant experience and long-term retention.You will collaborate with Marketing, Product Management, Account Management, and Sales teams to implement and optimize our SMB growth strategy.

Key job responsibilities

  • Design and execute merchant acquisition strategies for high-growth SMBs through programmatic and sales motions
  • Create and implement scalable programs to drive retention and growth of existing SMB merchants
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with merchant executives and key stakeholders, resolving pain points in a timely manner
  • Leverage data analytics to create new programs and drive incremental improvements to existing initiatives
  • Track and report on program performance metrics, adjusting strategies to meet or exceed business goals
  • Partner cross-functionally to ensure alignment between merchant needs and product development
  • Represent the voice of SMB merchants in internal discussions and planning

About The Team

You'll join a dynamic team focused on expanding Amazon Pay's merchant network and ensuring their success. Our team combines strategic thinking with operational excellence to drive growth in this rapidly expanding business.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or experience in sales or marketing work (like e-commerce, retail technology, SaaS) or equivalent
  • Proven ability to function at both strategic and operational levels
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to synthesize complex information for diverse audiences
  • Experience analyzing data, deriving insights, and implementing continuous program improvements
  • Fluency in German language

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the payments industry, including payment strategies, programs, and processes
  • Experience developing and delivering programs to improve merchant experience
  • Experience in account management with ownership of customer experience, preferably in B2B2C services and marketplaces
  • Experience working with SMB merchants and understanding their unique challenges
  • Experience with CRM systems and sales/account management tools
