Solutions Architect

Summary of Responsibilities

• The Solution Architect will lead the design and development of end-to-end technical solutions that enable the successful implementation of Smart City use cases on the TASMU Platform. This role requires close collaboration with internal teams, external solution providers, and stakeholders to define scalable, secure, and efficient architectures tailored to urban innovation challenges. The Solution Architect plays a strategic role in aligning business goals with technology solutions while ensuring compliance with data governance, privacy, and interoperability standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Minimum of 7+ years overall IT industry experience
• Minimum of 5+ years in a solution or technical architect role using services and hosting solutions such as private/public cloud IaaS, PaaS and SaaS platforms
• Experience working on large-scale public sector, smart city, or urban infrastructure projects.
• Strong architectural thinking with the ability to balance technical excellence with business outcomes.
• Excellent communication skills to explain complex technical solutions to diverse audiences including technical teams, non-technical stakeholders, and government partners.
• Problem-solving mindset with the ability to think critically and adapt solutions to changing urban needs.
• Strategic planning skills with attention to long-term platform evolution and interoperability.
• Experience working in agile, collaborative, and multi-vendor environments.
• Effective stakeholder engagement and vendor coordination skills.
• Experience in management of the end-to-end lifecycles of a project/product.

Technical Skills

• Deep expertise in Azure Cloud services: Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure API Management, Azure IoT Hub, and Azure Monitor.
• Solid understanding of enterprise integration patterns, RESTful APIs, event-driven architectures, and microservices.
• Strong knowledge of web and mobile application development including:
• Frontend frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue)
• Mobile app frameworks (e.g., Flutter, React Native)
• Backend development (.NET Core, Node.js, Python)
• Progressive Web Apps (PWA) and responsive design principles
• Experience in designing and integrating UI/UX components with platform APIs and data services.
• Familiarity with authentication and identity integration for apps using Azure Active Directory B2C, OAuth2, and OpenID Connect.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for web and mobile apps using Azure DevOps, GitHub
• Experience with containerization and orchestration of web/mobile services using Docker and AKS.
• Understanding of performance optimization, accessibility, and cross-platform testing best practices.
• Knowledge of data architecture (e.g., data lakes, warehouses, real-time analytics) and data security best practices.
• Familiarity with Smart City technologies such as IoT, GIS, real-time data streaming, and citizen-facing applications is a strong advantage.
