Embedded Software Engineer – French OR Dutch + English – ALTEN Belgium

The Position

As part of our ongoing growth, we are looking for an Embedded Software Engineer to join our teams and work on client projects located in Antwerp.

As an Embedded Software Engineer, your main responsibilities will include:

• Allocating system performance requirements and defining software solutions based on upper-level specifications
• Writing high- and low-level software requirements using dedicated tools
• Ensuring traceability between requirements
• Developing software in C / C++
• Collaborating with hardware engineers to develop hardware abstraction layers
• Using configuration management tools such as GIT, BitBucket, Jenkins, SonarQube
• Ensuring code quality through coverage checks and unit testing procedures
• Debugging low-level software using oscilloscopes
• Participating in FPGA development using VHDL
• Collaborating with IVVQ teams to set up continuous integration systems
• Writing Software Description Documents to capitalize project knowledge
• Participating in internal and external project reviews

Your Profile

• Master’s Degree in Software or Electronic Engineering, with a specialization in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent
• X years of experience in a similar position
• Proficiency in the following tools: GIT, BitBucket, Jenkins, SonarQube
• Language(s): French OR Dutch + English
• Experience with C / C++ embedded development
• Understanding of real-time embedded systems using microcontrollers
• Self-motivated with strong initiative
• Comfortable working within Agile environments
• Interest in innovation and industry trends
• Experience in aerospace, defense, railway, or automotive industries, and knowledge of standards DO-178, ARP4754, or ISO26262 is a plus
