This is a fantastic opportunity to gain practical, hands-on experience in a real-world DevOps environment, working alongside experienced engineers and supporting our development teams. We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic DevOps Working Student (w/m/d) to join our Platform/Infrastructure team. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain practical, hands-on experience in a real-world DevOps environment, working alongside experienced engineers and supporting our development teams. You'll learn how to build, automate, secure, and maintain the cloud infrastructure that underpins our services.
What You'll Do
- Assist in managing, automating, and optimizing our cloud infrastructure, primarily on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Gain practical experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles using tools like Terraform.
- Support our containerization strategy using Docker, Cloud Run and Kubernetes (GKE).
- Help maintain and improve our Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Contribute to monitoring efforts, ensuring the reliability and performance of our systems.
- Act as a point of contact for developers, assisting them with infrastructure-related queries and troubleshooting issues.
- Learn about and contribute to implementing security best practices within our cloud environment.
- Help create and maintain documentation for infrastructure, processes, and configurations.

What you’ll need
- Currently enrolled as a student (Bachelor's or Master's) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field at a university in Germany.
- First practical experience with a major cloud provider, especially Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Solid foundational understanding of Linux/Unix operating systems and comfort using the command line.
- Basic knowledge of core cloud computing concepts (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
- Initial exposure to or strong theoretical understanding of containerization technologies like Docker.
- A genuine passion for technology and a strong eagerness to learn about DevOps, cloud infrastructure, and automation.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Must be eligible to work as a Werkstudent in Germany
- Hands-on experience with Terraform or other IaC tools.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, Go).
- Understanding of CI/CD concepts or tools (e.g., GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
