Freelance ML Data Scientist (Payments, Credit & Fraud)

| NEW FULLY-REMOTE FREELANCE OPPORTUNITY:

I'm supporting a leading global credit / payments company within Financial Services in their search for a fully-remote (EU) Freelance Data Scientist with strong skills rooted in engineering.

You'll work on a freelance basis for a 6 month project (extension possible) in a cross-functional role across Product Insight, Fraud, Consumer Analytics and Credit risk, deploying data-driven solutions which will impact hundreds of thousands of users.

Responsibilities:

• Perform thorough analysis into product performance, user behaviour and risk metrics, supporting strategic decision making
• Improve existing model pipelines and data tools using internal MLOps platform
• Present technical recommendations (excellent technical stakeholder management skills are required for this)
• Test, develop and deploy ML models with application to fraud detection, consumer segmentation and credit scoring
• Help in defining KPIs with Product teams and push product development through your data driven insights.

Tech stack:

• Python (advanced), SQL (advanced), R (beneficial), Docker (nice to have)
• Must bring advanced skills in Snowflake and/or BigQuery, AWS, Looker
• Jupyter, Git, Airflow, dbt - Significant prior exposure
• scikit-learn, XGBoost, NumPy, PyMC3 / Bayesian modelling skills, pandas, NumPy tool-kits

Other Requirements:

• Must bring 3-5+ yrs of experience in Data Science / Engineering / ML
• SQL & Python data manipulation and modelling skills
• Agile, cross-functional - team player
• Based and eligible to work in EU (Germany / Swiss - preferred)
• Must have experience deploying models in production environments

Nice to have:

• Relevant background in e-commerce, credit risk or fraud prevention
• Experience freelancing and working remotely
• Adept in Looker, Airflow or dbt
