Junior Software Engineer – Java

Organisation

As a Software Engineer, you’ll be part of an agile development team working on our Marketing Operations Suite (MOS), a key platform that powers workflow and collaboration across our creative studios. You’ll help design, build, test, and continuously improve systems used by global clients like Albert Heijn, Philips, the BBC, and the UK Government.

You’ll be involved in complex projects focused on marketing technology, working closely with colleagues across different regions. You promote a culture of professionalism, customer service, and technical excellence, and you have affinity with the finance domain.

What you will do

• Work in an agile team on web services and APIs alongside skilled developers
• Apply test-driven development to ensure the reliability and correctness of your code
• Look for smart, effective ways to simplify complex technical challenges
• Use best-practice design patterns to keep solutions clean, maintainable, and scalable

What you bring

You are self-motivated and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. With strong analytical skills and a problem-solving mindset, you approach challenges with confidence and professionalism. You maintain a positive and professional attitude towards both colleagues and clients, and you feel comfortable operating in a dynamic environment. You bring a broad interest in new technologies, an innovative mindset, and a good sense of humour.

Your tech skills include:

• A minimum of 2 years of experience with software development, and:
• Proficiency in writing unit and integration tests
• Experience with Java 21, Spring Boot, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, and RabbitMQ
• Familiarity with REST API design and event-driven architectures
• Bonus points for experience with AWS and NetSuite
• Affinity with the finance domain
• A BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
