About The Role

We are seeking a talented and driven Data/ML Engineer to join our Retail Data Engineering team. This role is essential to our advanced machine learning initiatives, data processing optimisation, and data-driven decision-making within the Retail line of business. You’ll leverage the Azure Databricks platform to create, deploy, and maintain data engineering and machine learning workflows, supporting projects across Retail, Trading, Power Generation, IT, and Corporate business areas.

What You’ll Do

  • Design and develop machine learning models using Azure Databricks, utilising integrated ML tools like MLflow for version control and experimentation
  • Deploy machine learning models in production, ensuring scalability and high performance
  • Architect, develop, and optimise metadata-based ELT/ETL frameworks and data pipelines using Databricks' Spark-based infrastructure
  • Create and maintain data models to support downstream users and systems
  • Use DevOps methodologies to automate, monitor, and enhance data processing environments.


Your Experience

  • Proven experience in developing, deploying, and managing machine learning models
  • Experience with advanced Databricks features, including Delta Lake and AutoML
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate effectively across teams
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience gained within a highly regulated industry such as energy, government or banking.
