Role- Devops Engineer with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI Services)

Location- Bioggio, Switzerland

Job Type - Full Onsite from customer location

Employment- Fixed term contract for 6 months duration

A DevOps Engineer with a focus on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Services would be responsible for automating and optimizing the software development and deployment processes, ensuring the reliability and scalability of OCI-based applications and services. They would also collaborate with development teams to integrate CI/CD pipelines, automate infrastructure provisioning, and enhance platform observability within the OCI environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• CI/CD Pipelines:

Design, implement, and maintain continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines for OCI-based applications.

• Infrastructure as Code:

Automate infrastructure provisioning and management using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation within the OCI environment.

• Automation:

Automate tasks such as builds, deployments, and testing to improve efficiency and reduce manual errors.

• Monitoring and Observability:

Implement monitoring and alerting solutions to track the performance and health of OCI-based applications and infrastructure.

• Problem Solving:

Diagnose and resolve issues related to OCI services, infrastructure, and applications.

• Security:

Ensure the security of OCI-based applications and infrastructure by implementing security best practices.

• Collaboration:

Collaborate with development, operations, and other teams to ensure seamless software delivery and operations.

Skills and Experience:

• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Powershell or Bash for automating routine tasks.
• OCI Expertise: Proficiency in using and managing OCI services, including Compute, Storage, Networking, Database, and DevOps services.
• Cloud Technologies: Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and virtualization.
• DevOps Tools: Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps), infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation), and configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet).
• Scripting: Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation tasks.
• Networking: Familiarity with network concepts and troubleshooting.
• Security: Working knowledge of security best practices for web application delivery.

Specific Examples of OCI-Related Tasks:

• Setting up OCI tenancies for development and production environments.
• Deploying applications to OCI Compute instances or Kubernetes clusters.
• Configuring and managing OCI networking resources, such as virtual networks, security rules, and load balancers.
• Integrating OCI services with other Oracle products, such as Oracle Autonomous Database.
