Security Engineer

About The Role

Taktile is a high-growth, post product-market-fit start-up, on a fast trajectory to becoming market leader in the field of automated decisioning. We are looking for a Security Engineer to join our Platform team tasked with hardening our security stance and keeping taktile safe from all cybersecurity threats. You’ll be embedded at the intersection of infrastructure, engineering, and security, building systems that keep our platform safe, resilient, and trusted by customers. This is a hands-on technical security role with real impact: you’ll ship automation and services, catch threats early, and harden everything from cloud to code.

What You'll Do

• Work on backend components written in Python / FastAPI, hosted on an AWS serverless architecture: Build and maintain cloud-native services.
• Engage actively in team rituals such as daily syncs, planning sessions, demos, and technical deep-dive discussions.
• Grow as an individual and accelerate your career by learning from our experienced team, contributing to a foundational layer of the product, and joining cross-team learning groups.
  
  

Requirements:

• Taktile is a hybrid company with options to work from either our Berlin HQ, our London office or the Iasi Hub in Romania. Taktile will not cover relocation services for this role.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is essential as we operate in a remote environment requiring clear and effective communication.
• Strong engineering fundamentals with a passion for simplicity and precision
  
  

Ideal, But Not Required

• Security certifications – e.g., CISSP, CKS, AWS Security
  
  

Required Experience

• 5+ years in security engineering roles, ideally in cloud-native environments.
• Strong experience with AWS, Azure, and/or GCP security tools and best practices.
• Familiarity with DevSecOps and integrating security in CI/CD.
• Deep understanding of security controls, risk management, and compliance.
• Backend engineer/SRE experience (Python, Bash, Terraform, etc.).
