SENIOR ANDROID ENGINEER

Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Senior Android Engineer for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in Poland. Our client is a remote-first company that serves over one million drivers, powering the physical economy by building technology to enhance the safety, productivity, sustainability, and profitability of businesses that operate in this sector. The automated operations platform combines IoT hardware with AI-powered applications to automate vehicle and equipment tracking, driver safety, compliance, maintenance, spend management, and more. The company’s core is an IoT platform connecting vehicles, equipment, and facilities. It unlocks the data that enables automated operations. These include vehicle gateway, asset gateway, AI dashcam environmental sensors, and OEM telematics. The client serves over 120,000 businesses across various industries, including trucking and logistics, construction, oil and gas, food and beverage, field service, agriculture, passenger transit, and delivery.

You’ll join the Fleet Card Team and work on a high-impact mobile application used in the fleet management space. This role involves delivering end-to-end features, from architecture to deployment, in close collaboration with product, design, and backend teams.

The tech stack is a mix of older languages with newer ones (both Java and Kotlin are for Android). The rest of the stack is standard, with MVVM for newer parts of the codebase and MVC in the older parts.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience developing Android applications.
• Advanced knowledge of Java and Kotlin.
• Strong knowledge of Android SDK, activity lifecycle, custom views, Retrofit, Dagger 2, reactive programming (RxJava or Kotlin Flow), and local storage/database (e.g., Room, SQLite).
• Experience with Version Control Systems (e.g., Git).
• Hands-on experience with Bluetooth / BLE integration.
• Proven experience publishing apps to the Google Play Store.
