Network Administrator

We are looking for Bilingual Network Administrator candidate for a governmental entity onsite in Sharjah.

Key Responsibilities

1. Network Infrastructure Management

o Administer, configure, and maintain switches, routers, firewalls, wireless access points, and other networking equipment to ensure optimal network performance.

o Perform regular network health checks, upgrades, and patch management to prevent vulnerabilities.

2. Network Performance and Troubleshooting

o Monitor network performance, bandwidth utilization, and latency to ensure minimal downtime and optimal efficiency.

o Diagnose and resolve network outages, connectivity issues, and performance bottlenecks in a timely manner.

3. Security and Compliance

o Implement and enforce network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and access controls.

o Conduct regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and risk mitigation activities.

o Ensure compliance with IT policies, regulatory standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NESA), and industry best practices.

4. User and Access Management

o Configure and manage user accounts, permissions, and group policies to enforce security policies.

o Oversee secure remote access solutions and implement multi factor authentication where necessary.

5. Documentation and Reporting

o Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, changes, incidents, and troubleshooting procedures.

o Provide regular reports on network performance, security incidents, and recommended improvements.

6. Project Support and RFP Preparation o Assist in IT infrastructure projects, including network upgrades, migrations, and new implementations.

o Support the department by preparing RFPs for section projects, evaluating vendor proposals, and ensuring alignment with technical and security standards.

Qualifications and Experience

1. Education & Certifications

o Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security, Networking, Electronic and Communication Engineering, or a related field.

o Industry-recognized certifications such as:

▪ Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)

▪ CompTIA Security+

▪ Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) (preferred)

▪ Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE) (preferred)

▪ Certified Ethical Hacking (CEH)

2. Technical Expertise

o Minimum 12 years of hands-on experience in network administration, security, and infrastructure management.

o Expertise in configuring and managing enterprise-grade network devices such as Cisco, Palo Alto, and Avaya systems.

o Strong knowledge of firewall administration, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.

o Experience with cloud networking (e.g., AWS, Azure networking) is a plus.

o Familiarity with network automation and scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible) is a plus.

3. Soft Skills & Additional Requirements

o Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with a proactive approach.

o Ability to work under pressure and handle after-hours or weekend tasks as required by operational needs.

o Strong written and verbal communication skills for documentation and reporting.
