Who We Are
Verily is a subsidiary of Alphabet that is using a data-driven approach to change the way people manage their health and the way healthcare is delivered. Launched from Google X in 2015, our purpose is to bring the promise of precision health to everyone, every day. We are focused on generating and activating data from a variety of sources, including clinical, social, behavioral and the real world, to arrive at the best solutions for a person based on a comprehensive view of the evidence. Our unique expertise and capabilities in technology, data science and healthcare enable the entire healthcare ecosystem to drive better health outcomes.
Description
Verily’s Workbench solution provides a secure collaborative environment for data generators, research, and biopharma organizations to govern and analyze their data.
Workbench incorporates technology and best practices developed through years of building data infrastructure for large research initiatives such as the National Institutes of Health’s All of Us Research Program, the Accelerating Medicines Partnership® Parkinson’s disease (AMP PD) program, and the Project Baseline Health Study. See the Intro to Workbench support documentation for a summary of features, integrations, and technical details.
We are seeking an experienced software engineer to help design and develop the various systems that make up Workbench. This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of our custom application platform, enhance support for scientific workflow engines like Cromwell and Nextflow, contribute to state-of-the-art data security and exfiltration systems and policies, or build the foundational components of the Workbench platform.
