eShepherd™ is Gallagher’s flagship virtual fencing solution, helping farmers monitor, move, and manage livestock from anywhere using solar-powered GPS-enabled neckbands and a cloud-connected mobile platform.

It’s transforming how farmers work - boosting efficiency, reducing labour, and improving land and animal wellbeing. This is smart farming at scale, and DevOps is at the heart of making it run like clockwork.

What You’ll Tackle

This isn’t your average DevOps gig. You’ll help shape the backbone of a world-leading AgTech platform that blends IoT, AI, and cloud services.

Here’s How You’ll Leave Your Mark

  • Own, maintain, and enhance our AWS cloud infrastructure
  • Build and evolve CI/CD pipelines that keep our teams shipping fast and reliably
  • Ensure system reliability, scalability, and performance across all environments
  • Work with embedded engineers and app devs to integrate the full tech stack
  • Champion automation, best practice, and continuous improvement across the board

What You’re Made Of

You’re the kind of engineer who sees DevOps as more than just tools - it’s a mindset. You love automating the boring stuff, thrive in collaborative environments, and get a buzz from seeing clean code ship with zero fuss.

What You Bring To The Herd

  • Experience with AWS services like EC2, S3, CloudWatch
  • Proficiency in Docker, Jenkins, Terraform, and Git
  • Scripting wizardry in Bash or PowerShell, plus development chops in Java, Python, or Node.js
  • Familiarity with Linux environments and monitoring tools like Grafana
  • Designing and developing tools and systems with an AI-first mindset
  • A problem-solver’s mindset, a passion for reliability, and a love of continuous improvement

Bonus Points If You Also Have

  • Experience with embedded systems or IoT
  • A DevSecOps or infrastructure-as-code mindset
  • An eye for spotting performance bottlenecks before they bite
