Responsibilities and more:

Zest Media Group is seeking an experienced Full Stack Web Developer to oversee and enhance the digital presence of our diverse portfolio of lifestyle publications. This is an exciting opportunity for a developer proficient in both frontend and backend technologies, with experience across platforms like WordPress and Squarespace. The core purpose of this role is to grow our website traffic through technical excellence, performance optimisation, and collaboration with content and marketing teams.

Key responsibilities:

Website development & maintenance:

* Manage and maintain websites built on WordPress and Squarespace platforms.

* Customize and enhance themes and templates to align with brand aesthetics and functionality requirements.

* Ensure websites are responsive, accessible, and optimized for performance across all devices.

Frontend development:

* Develop and maintain clean, modular CSS templates to support various layouts and components.

* Implement interactive elements using JavaScript and ensure compatibility across browsers.

* Collaborate with design teams to translate mockups into functional web pages.

Backend development:

* Develop and maintain custom WordPress plugins and functionalities.

* Integrate third-party APIs and services as needed.

* Manage website hosting environments, including DNS settings and CDN configurations.

SEO & performance optimization:

* Implement SEO best practices, including structured data and sitemap management.

* Monitor and improve website loading speeds and overall performance.

* Utilize tools like Google Analytics and Search Console to track and analyze website metrics.

Collaboration & project management:

* Work closely with editorial, marketing, and design teams to support content strategies and campaigns.

* Provide technical guidance and support to team members as needed.

* Stay updated on emerging web technologies and propose innovative solutions to enhance our digital offerings.

Qualifications:

Education and experience:

* Proven experience as a Full Stack Web Developer, with a strong portfolio showcasing work across WordPress and Squarespace platforms.

* Experience in a media, publishing, or content-driven environment is advantageous.

Technical skills:

* Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and PHP.

* Experience with WordPress theme and plugin development.

* Familiarity with Squarespace customization and configuration.

* Knowledge of SEO principles and best practices.

* Experience with version control systems like Git.
