Your Tasks

We are looking for an experienced Principal AI Engineer to take a central role in shaping and delivering our AI strategy. You will be responsible for defining our AI solution architecture, setting technical standards, leading projects and mentoring engineers. You will collaborate with internal domain experts and external partners to scale AI across our business and ensure high-quality, production-ready solutions.

• Define and maintain our overall AI technology stack and architecture
• Lead the design and implementation of multiple AI use cases in parallel
• Set standards for AI development, MLOps, and deployment
• Collaborate with business leaders to identify, prioritize, and refine AI opportunities
• Guide and mentor other AI engineers and domain experts
• Manage relationships and contracts with external AI partners and vendors
• Ensure best practices in data management, model governance, and ethical AI
• Stay on top of industry trends and evaluate new AI technologies for strategic fit
  
  

Your Skills

Must-Have skills

• 7+ years of professional experience in applied AI/ML
• Proven track record of delivering production-ready AI systems
• Deep knowledge of AI/ML frameworks
• Experience with MLOps best practices
• Experience with NLP and LLM integration
• Ability to design scalable, maintainable AI architectures
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Experience in coordinating cross-functional teams and external partners
• Very good English language skills are mandatory and German language skills are a plus
  
  

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Background in manufacturing, or engineering domains
• Exposure to visual AI (image recognition, quality inspection)
• Experience in agile development environments
