Software Developer - Backend

Software Developer (Contract) – C#/.NET, Azure | 6 Months | Hybrid – Dublin City Centre

A prominent financial services organisation is seeking an accomplished Software Developer to join their Digital & Technology team on a 6-month day-rate contract. This position offers a hybrid working model, combining remote flexibility with in-office collaboration based in Dublin 1.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement high-quality digital solutions across web applications and backend services.
• Build and maintain secure, efficient RESTful APIs and support third-party service integrations.
• Collaborate effectively with Product Owners, UX/UI Designers, QA, and business stakeholders in an agile environment.
• Participate in technical planning, peer reviews, and solution design workshops.
• Provide mentorship to junior developers and contribute to technical best practices.
• Engage with internal teams and external vendors to deliver cohesive digital experiences.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 6 years’ experience in software development using C# and .NET Core.
• Proficiency in designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
• Strong knowledge of Azure Cloud Services, including Azure Functions, App Services, and Storage.
• Experience with Azure API Management (APIM).
• Solid understanding of SQL Server and database performance optimisation.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and cross-functional collaboration.

Desirable Skills

• Exposure to React.js, TypeScript, and modern frontend development practices.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps within Azure environments.
• Knowledge of Azure AD B2C or comparable identity management frameworks.
