The Role:

The Senior Network and Security Engineer will lead proactive initiatives to design state-of-the-art networking solutions, tailored to our business needs and future growth. They will collaborate closely with our dedicated Global IT Team and report to the Global Head of IT. This role is based in our Dublin 15 office.

Your Responsibilities:

• Lead the implementation of scalable network solutions that not only meet current demands but also anticipate and adapt to evolving requirements, ensuring the network remains agile, responsive, and aligned with organisational objectives.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose network problems, with a focus on routing, switching, security, and data centre implementations.
• Conduct network capacity planning and implement necessary upgrades to hardware and software components.
• Refine and document operational processes related to the network.
• Provide Tier 3 escalation support for Technical Services during network or customer outages.
• Perform root cause analysis of service-affecting events and ensure timely resolution and implement corrective actions.
• Determine and meet project timelines for infrastructure-related initiatives.
• Support the operation of data centre networks.
• Develop and enforce architectural and security standards.
• Design and implement major infrastructure projects.
• Contribute to the development of the Information Security Strategy, including the enhancement of IT security processes and controls.
• Manage a suite of IT Security services, including Firewall rule management, Monitoring and Logging, Vulnerability Scanning, Malware & DLP protection, penetration testing, and internet/email filtering.
• Resolve remediation actions for IT Security, addressing findings from penetration testing, vulnerability scanning, internal Risk Management, Validation/Assurance, and internal and external/Compliance audit activities.
• Identify, analyse, monitor, and minimise areas of risk related to information technology.
• Review and update process documentation to ensure adequacy and consistency is maintained.
• Collaborate with and provide guidance to the existing network and security team based in India on projects related to network infrastructure and security.

Preferred Qualifications, Training and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Relevant industry certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or equivalent.
• Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in network design, implementation, and optimisation.
• Demonstrated proficiency in designing, configuring, and troubleshooting complex routing and switching environments.
• Extensive experience in designing and deploying large-scale network infrastructures with a focus on reliability and performance.
• Ability to architect solutions that meet current business needs while anticipating future growth and technological advancements.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively convey technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience creating comprehensive technical documentation, including network diagrams, design specifications, and operational procedures.
• Natural orientation toward knowledge-sharing and mutual support.
• Highly self-motivated and self-directed.
• Proficient in Managing SonicWall Firewalls.
• Thorough understanding of network protocols and features, including TCP/IP, 802.1Q, MLS/L3 switching (especially Dell switches), and advanced routing protocols.
• Proficiency in implementing and optimising network protocols to ensure optimal performance and security.
