Senior Backend Engineer – AI Cloud Infrastructure

Location: Amsterdam – 2 days in office

Salary: Up to €150k base + bonus, depending on seniority

Join a high-performance engineering team shaping the future of AI infrastructure at scale. This role is ideal for backend engineers who enjoy building low-latency, fault-tolerant systems that power distributed computing, ML workloads, and hyperscale platforms.

You’ll work closely with world-class engineers to build the backend foundations that support next-gen AI and ML use cases, from managed databases and Kubernetes to internal billing, monitoring, and ML services.

Team & Responsibilities:

Work on cutting-edge infrastructure powering enterprise-grade AI platforms. In this role, you’ll:

• Design and build reliable, scalable cloud services across compute, storage, and orchestration
• Own critical components in areas such as managed K8s, observability, billing, or ML infra
• Contribute to high-load backend systems built in Go (and occasionally Java/Python)
• Participate in design reviews and maintain high engineering standards for code quality, testing, and documentation

Required Skills:

• 5+ years of experience building production-grade backend systems
• Strong proficiency in Go, (background in Java or Python a plus)
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, networking, or microservice architecture

Nice to have:

• Experience with high-throughput systems or scalable microservices
• Background in cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, or managed platform service
