Network Engineer (NOC Team)

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Network Engineer to join our Network Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, designing, implementing, and maintaining network systems to ensure the efficient performance of critical business operations. This individual will have strong technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to adapt to evolving network technologies.

What you’ll have to do:

Network Infrastructure

Design, develop, and maintain resilient network topologies, including Local Area Networks (LANs), Wide Area Networks (WANs), Wireless Networks (WLAN), and VPNs;
Manage and configure networking devices such as: Routers (Cisco, Juniper, Dell, etc.), Switches (Core, Distribution, and Access layers), Firewalls (Fortinet, Cisco ASA, or similar), Wireless Access Points and Controllers (e.g., Aruba, Cisco, Juniper Mist), Load balancers.

Network Configuration

Configure and optimize networking services such as: Routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, RIP), Switching technologies (VLANs, Trunking, STP, RSTP), IP address management (CIDR, subnetting, DHCP), DNS/Name Services and Network Address Translation (NAT);
Deploy and administer secure remote access for users (SSL/TLS VPNs or IPSec);
Implement Voice over IP (VoIP) solutions and ensure Quality of Service (QoS).

Network Monitoring and Troubleshooting

Monitor, analyze, and maintain network integrity and performance using tools such as: Wireshark, Nagios, or equivalent;
Perform root cause analysis for recurring issues and develop documentation of incidents;
Minimize system downtime by troubleshooting and resolving network congestion, failures, or outages;
Test network backup and disaster recovery configurations to ensure system reliability.

Network Security

Maintain perimeter security configurations, including firewalls, IDS/IPS systems, and anti-DDoS measures;
Configure access control policies and ensure secure access to data and devices;
Apply encryption technologies and VPNs for data confidentiality and integrity;
Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify risks;
Stay abreast of threat intelligence and respond proactively to mitigate risks.

Documentation & Reporting

Maintain detailed and up-to-date documentation, including network diagrams, assets inventories, configurations, and troubleshooting guides;
Review logs and generate periodic reports on KPIs such as bandwidth utilization, network uptime, and security violations.

Layer 2/3 Switching (VLANs, Port Channeling, STP/RSTP);
Dynamic and Static Routing (OSPF, BGP, RIP, HSRP/VRRP);
Management of SD-WAN solutions.

Network Security

Implementation of firewalls, VPN gateways, and proxy servers.

Monitoring Systems

Tools for event log management;
Traffic Management/NetFlow analysis.

Scripting & Automation

Use of scripting/programming languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell) for automating network tasks.
