Project Manager
Reports to: EMEA Operations Projects Director
Job Purpose:
Responsible for the delivery and accountability of the relevant projects within Operations. To provide the vital link between the design team, project delivery teams, external agents and operational staff in a live data centre environment.
Scope of work:
- Maintenance projects
- Efficiency projects
- Rebuilds at site
- Customer projects
- Operations systems development
- And other activities linked to the expansion plan of the company
Key responsibilities:
- Project plan and implementation plan
- Proper handover to production or customer
- Budget: plan and follow up
- Resource management
- Supplier management
- Steer committee
- HSE
Tasks:
- Responsible for the supervision, follow up and development in the projects.
- Responsible for the timely delivery of Operations projects, to budget and in accordance with Corporate and Management and Sales objectives.
- To be point of contact for the liaison between all stakeholders, clients, designers, contractors, municipalities and other government entities in the Operations Projects.
- Have a local oversight of all project design and execution teams, the programme and to ensure integration with facility operations.
- To own project budgets.
- Liaise with Project Cost Controllers to ensure accurate cost tracking, forecasting and change management of project budgets.
- Validate project progress and achievement of project milestones and maintain a local overview programme. Communicate variance to the Management.
- Liaise with Information Technology department regarding project technical matters, change orders and approvals.
- Liaise with Operations Management and /or Site Manager regarding project operational matters, work permits, hand over and manuals etc.
- Adhere to project, operational and financial process.
- Ensure all project work is carried out safely and comply with legal requirements, company requirements and procedures as well as departmental procedures. Work in conjunction with Process Improvement Manager to ensure best practice, as required.
- Ensure and enforce the Main Contractors (Health and Safety) obligations, enforcing and maintaining a clean working environment.
- Develop frame agreements with key suppliers and contractors.
- Assist in preparation of Management reports as required.
- Provide support and advice to other areas of the business as member of the project management function.
Job practicalities / Skills and qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in project management along with an engineering background.
- 3-5 years of experience as a Project Manager or similar position responsible for defining and managing project scope, timelines, profitability, and effective delivery of products or services.
- Positive, can-do attitude with the ability to succeed in a fast-paced work environment.
- Can interact with CxO level as well as technicians without any problems
- Clear and straight forward communicator, can get people to go in the same direction to reach goals
- An inclusive leader that lifts people and make them grow – Team spirit
- Solid technical understanding and ability to define and refine requirements through a project lifecycle.
- Fluent English and Scandinavian language skills
