Junior Software Engineer

We are seeking a passionate and effective Junior Full-Stack Software Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will join a strong and energetic team utilizing the latest in cutting edge technology to make a measurable and visible impact on our organization.

This is a full-stack role (50% Front-end/50% Back-end).

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing software applications, often working on smaller modules or features.
• Write basic code according to specifications and requirements provided.
• Participate in stand-up meetings, code reviews, and other team activities.
• Follow best practices and coding standards set by the team.
• Assist in debugging code and fixing minor bugs.
• Write unit tests to ensure code quality.
• Maintain and update legacy code as required.
• Write clear and concise technical documentation, such as comments in code, user manuals, or documentation for future reference.
• Maintain documentation of features, bugs, and fixes.
• Communicate effectively with your team on domain, design, and coding.
  
  

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES

• Strong desire to learn to code, and to find and follow best practices.
• Knowledge of website/webapp building using JavaScript/TypeScript code.
• Good CSS and HTML skills.
• Familiarity with current JavaScript frameworks and libraries, e.g., React, jQuery.
• Knowledge of server-side languages, either compiled or interpreted. We use Python and PHP.
• Strong desire for writing efficient code and delighting users with best-in-class UX.
• Understanding of Web app architecture, HTTP, Web Services, and REST APIs.
• Understanding of version control. We use git.
• UI/UX Design (Nice to have).
