Senior Java Engineer

What You’ll Do

• Lead backend development efforts across the full software lifecycle—from design to production support.
• Develop and test robust applications and integrations using Java (Spring or Quarkus), REST APIs, and relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, etc.).
• Break down complex use cases into actionable development tasks and estimate effort based on detailed designs.
• Guide and mentor Associate and Mid-level Engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
• Drive process improvements and advocate for best practices in software development.
• Manage and deliver development projects, coordinating with cross-functional teams including Product, QA, and Design.
• Conduct code reviews, implement automated testing frameworks, and maintain thorough documentation.
• React to production incidents within SLAs and provide well-reasoned technical solutions.

What You Bring

• Strong proficiency in Java, including advanced features (Streams, Lambdas, Generics, etc.) and design patterns.
• Experience with RESTful API design and integration.
• Solid understanding of relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL) and query optimization.
• Hands-on experience with Spring or Quarkus, Hibernate/JPA, and Maven.
• Familiarity with GitLab pipelines or similar CI/CD tools.
• Exposure to Kubernetes and Docker is a plus.
• Experience using Jira for task management and dashboard creation.
• Comfortable working in UNIX environments and navigating command-line tools.
• Passion for mentoring and growing engineering talent.
• A mindset focused on customer satisfaction and delivering business value.
