Network Engineer (Data Center Networks)

I am Andrius Valiukevičius, Team Manager of the Network Contract Maintenance team at Telia Lietuva. Our team is responsible for managing, maintaining, and supporting Telia Lietuva’s internal and commercial clients' data center networks. Telia Lietuva operates several modern data centers that meet the highest security standards and provide IT services to many well-known Lithuanian companies.

We are currently looking for a motivated and curious Junior to Mid-Level Data Center Network Engineer to join our team.

As a Network Engineer you will…

• join a team of experienced professionals who will support your growth and development. You’ll help maintain and improve network infrastructures in both private and public cloud environments, contributing to stable, reliable, and secure data center network operations.
  
  

You will work with both traditional and modern network architectures and collaborate closely with senior network engineers, architects, and project teams to develop and implement effective network solutions. Day-to-day, you will also interact with teams like Level 1–2 Network Operations, Virtualization & Cloud, Linux, Windows, Applications, and more – gaining hands-on experience in cross-functional collaboration and real-world network operations.

Who we're looking for:

We welcome candidates who have a strong interest in data center networking and a basic understanding of IP networking, network security, and scalable infrastructure. You enjoy troubleshooting, are eager to grow your technical knowledge, and are comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. You're quality-focused, collaborative, and understand the value of clear documentation in daily operations.

We are looking for someone with:

• Basic to intermediate experience with Cisco networking equipment, ideally including Cisco Nexus (3K/5K/9K)
• Foundational knowledge of networking concepts and protocols, such as TCP/IP, VLAN, DHCP, DNS, and routing protocols like OSPF or BGP
• Interest in learning about more advanced topics like VXLAN, EVPN, LACP, VRRP, MC-LAG, and others
• Experience with next-generation firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortigate, Checkpoint) is a plus.
• Proficiency in documenting work clearly and fluency in both Lithuanian and English (written and spoken) are essential.
  
  

Nice to have (but not required):

• Familiarity or interest in network automation (e.g., Python, Ansible)
• Exposure to Application Delivery Controllers (F5) or Web Application Firewalls (WAF)
• Knowledge of VMware NSX-T or public cloud networks (AWS, Azure, GCP)

Monthly salary range for this position: 2100 – 3200 Eur gross plus annual bonuses which are depending on your competencies and your and Telia results.
