Python Backend Developer (onsite)

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Python Backend Developer located in Maia. The Python Backend Developer will be responsible for developing and maintaining backend services, performing software development tasks, and implementing object-oriented programming principles. The role involves working with databases and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.

You’ll take ownership of our orchestration and delivery pipelines, ensuring our data and models run seamlessly, reliably, and at scale. Working closely with our data science and product teams, you’ll help automate and optimize the full forecasting lifecycle—from raw data ingestion to actionable results. Fullstack skills are a plus, allowing you to support lightweight frontend tools when needed.

What You’ll Do

• Build and manage orchestration workflows (e.g. Airflow, Prefect)
• Develop backend services for ingesting, processing, and delivering forecasts
• Monitor pipeline health and job performance; handle errors and retries proactively
• Work with data scientists to integrate and scale forecasting models in production
• Support internal tools and dashboards, optionally contributing frontend components
• Implement auditability, logging, versioning, and performance monitoring
• Improve and automate repetitive data handling and reporting tasks
• Contribute to architectural decisions as we scale our infrastructure

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Back-End Web Development and Software Development
• Strong skills in Python and object-oriented programming, with experience developing production-grade backend services
• Experience working with Postgresql
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
• Ability to work on-site in Maia
• Good communication skills in English
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Familiarity with agile methodologies is a plus
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or cloud platforms is a plus
• Bonus: exposure to frontend frameworks (React, Vue, etc.)
• Bonus: experience in supply chain, manufacturing, or forecasting domains
