Overlay is on a mission to power every payment made in the UAE—whether that's a flat white from a local café or a new pair of sneakers online. We’re a lean team of successful start up builders from YC-backed companies and leading fintech, focused on delivering the world’s best payment experiences that are fast, secure, and cost-effective for merchants.

We’re building our product engineering team in Dubai and are looking for hands-on, product-oriented engineers excited to work on meaningful problems and ship at speed.

What You’ll Do

• Build web UIs using HTML, CSS, JavaScript for our web-based payment products.
• Ship features and flows that will power millions of transactions.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to move fast and write clean code.
• Collaborate closely with backend engineers and designers to iterate quickly.
• Continuously refine our frontend software architecture.

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years of experience building production-grade frontend web applications.
• Proven track record of shipping user-facing features in fast-paced environments.
• Strong knowledge of TypeScript/JavaScript and frameworks like Svelte, React, Next.js.
• Product oriented engineers with attention to detail when meeting supplied UI designs.
• Familiarity with AI-based development tools and a desire to push their capabilities.
• A mindset focused on delivery over process, and learning over perfection.

Nice to Have

• Experience working with fintech or secure transaction systems.
• Understanding of backend services to interface effectively with APIs.
• Design sensibility or experience working closely with design systems.
