Your Impact

You will join McKinsey's Brussels office as part of the Belgium-Luxembourg office's people team. You will be responsible for managing the full range of professional development activities with a strong focus on staffing activities for the consulting integrative generalist staff within BeLux.

You will work closely with consultants and with engagement directors of the respective studies. You will act as the go-to person to find the study that best fits their interests or development paths. For engagement directors, you will be the go-to person to guide them to the profiles that are the best fit for their studies and help them compose the team accordingly. To achieve this, you will connect and collaborate with McKinsey partners and the firm’s professional development network across Europe and beyond.

In addition to leading staffing, you will coordinate people activities and people initiatives related to the Brussels location (e.g., reviews and special professional development initiatives).

You will run the staffing process for a cohort of consultants from the integrative generalist pool.

In this role, you will obtain detailed information from partners regarding possible studies and staffing needs. You will recommend the best available team of consultants for each study, balancing team and individual needs. You will communicate staffing decisions and rationales to all parties involved. To do this effectively, you will develop a professional relationship with consultants to understand their aspirations, experiences, strengths, development areas and personal preferences.

In addition, you will develop and staff McKinsey consultants together with the staffing and professional development team. You will monitor each consultant's development, career progression and other topics as they arise.

You’ll work closely with the professional development team, partners and consultants to ensure that consultants receive timely and required development opportunities while reflecting needs in client service. You’ll also liaise with the staffing community across the firm to explore suitable international engagement opportunities for consultants in other offices and facilitate inbound/outbound staffing assignments.

You will help engagement directors to navigate the staffing system. You’ll acquire and continuously refresh a sound understanding of the industry’s/sector’s key clients, hot topics and firm expertise/staffing pools that are relevant to bring the best of the firm to a given study. You’ll also support engagement directors in considering, identifying and accessing the right staffing pools.

Finally, you will contribute to broader people and office initiatives by working and assuming responsibility on a variety of ad hoc as well as special projects surfaced by the professional development leaders and other key stakeholders. You’ll ensure that the office and region staffing as well as professional development utilizes and helps enhance the firm's best practices on staffing.
