Associate Vice President, Legal

Our client is a global SoaS business working with Pharma. They are seeking an experienced and strategic Associate Vice President, Legal leader to be based in Dublin. This role will serve as the primary legal counsel for our business in Europe and abroad, overseeing all legal matters with a strong emphasis on International Commercial contracts and Global Data Privacy Compliance (GDPR).

Key Responsibilities:

• Negotiate and draft various technology agreements, including SaaS agreements, information security schedules, data processing agreements, vendor agreements, joint development agreements, and teaming agreements.
• Ensure global compliance with GDPR and other relevant privacy laws, collaborating with internal teams to meet legal and regulatory standards.
• Provide legal advice on privacy, technology, compliance, GDPR, and employment issues to the Executive Leadership Team, senior management, and business teams.
• Partner with leaders across the business on legal and cross-functional projects, evaluating risk and devising creative and practical solutions.
• Build out the compliance program, including drafting policies and related documents.
• Work proactively with colleagues locally and internationally on legal and strategic projects, fostering good relationships across departments.

Your Experience:

• Law Degree from an accredited law school with at least 5+ years of experience in an international organization.
• 10+ years of post-qualification legal experience, focusing on International Commercial Contracts and GDPR compliance.
• Proven experience leading an international legal team.
• Skilled in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts and other legal documents.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of interacting with all organizational levels and delivering technical results to a non-technical audience.
• Ability to provide sound legal advice, develop creative solutions, and exercise sound business judgment.
• Experience in data protection and privacy-related matters, with the ability to act as or become a Data Protection Officer (DPO).
• A team player with a strong work ethic, self-motivation, and the ability to make decisions and provide practical guidance.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, flexible, and evolving environment.
