Project Manager

DPS Group Global
Ireland · Full-time · Mid-Senior

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead and deliver capital projects—up to €10 million in value—for our client in a regulated manufacturing environment. This is a strategic, hands-on role where the candidate will work across departments to manage complex projects from inception through execution.

About the Role

The Senior Project Manager will operate with a high degree of autonomy, receiving strategic guidance as needed but expected to independently lead multidisciplinary project teams. Prior experience managing full-cycle projects—within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or a related regulated industry—is essential.

The successful candidate will guide teams that include cross-functional stakeholders, many of whom are not direct reports. Therefore, strong leadership and people-management skills are required. Experience with construction management and/or process equipment specification and qualification is highly advantageous.

A deep understanding of Safety, Quality, and Compliance is critical, as these form the foundation of all project activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of project execution, including safety, planning, budgeting, scheduling, risk, communications, and implementation.
  • Develop project scopes and execution strategies in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee the creation and review of engineering specifications, bid packages, and service contracts.
  • Lead design (as applicable), procurement, construction, and commissioning activities.
  • Support technical solutions related to manufacturing processes and equipment, coordinating closely with external engineering partners when needed.
  • Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and regulatory expectations through robust quality control measures.
  • Drive strategic decision-making and solution design for complex project phasing and execution challenges.
  • Manage the introduction of new equipment, including pre-qualification problem-solving and troubleshooting.
  • Serve as the project lead for multi-disciplinary teams, fostering collaboration across departments.
  • Participate in investigations (e.g., root cause, cross-functional) and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Act as a safety role model, ensuring adherence to environmental, health, and safety regulations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Supervise third-party contractors, A&E firms, and construction personnel when necessary.
  • Support governance and leadership presentations for project approvals and updates.
  • Collaborate with Project Controls on capital budget tracking and forecasting.
  • Occasional travel may be required to support project execution at partner or vendor sites.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 5+ years in project management and/or engineering, ideally within a regulated or high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated end-to-end project management experience, from concept to operational handover.
  • Experience working in a Good Documentation Practice (GDP)-compliant and GMP-regulated setting.
  • Strong technical background with the ability to engage in equipment lifecycle discussions and technical troubleshooting.
  • Track record of working cross-functionally and delivering results through collaboration and influence.
  • Proven leadership skills and the ability to manage teams in a matrix or multi-stakeholder environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with strong presentation and reporting capabilities.
  • Proficiency in data-driven decision making and root cause analysis.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced setting
