Senior Product Owner Edge Platform

DeLaval
Sweden · Full-time · Director

We are a global leader in industrial manufacturing of dairy equipment, with decades of heritage building world-class dairy equipment—robots, compressors, pumps, motors, gates, embedded systems, and much more. Now, we’re transforming for the future.

Our Digital Services team is leading this transformation by connecting our vast installed base of on-site equipment to secure, scalable cloud services. This is not just a technical shift—it’s a foundational change in how we support, service, and innovate for our customers across the world.

Role And Responsibilities

We are seeking a Technical Product Owner to define and drive the vision for a unified Edge Platform. This platform will consolidate and modernize our on-premise compute, storage, and networking systems across our globally distributed equipment base. You’ll ensure these edge systems are cloud-managed, secure, scalable, and supply-chain integrated—built for the future of connected industry. This role sits within the Digital Services unit, but requires tight collaboration with our manufacturing and embedded systems business unit. You will act as a strategic and technical bridge—aligning embedded systems, field deployed hardware, cloud architecture, and customer-facing digital services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the Edge Platform roadmap, driving the harmonization of all onprem compute, storage, and networking infrastructure across our product lines.
  • Translate customer and business requirements into clear, actionable user stories and backlogs for engineering teams.
  • Collaborate with globally distributed embedded, hardware, and cloud teams and partners to ensure seamless edge-to-cloud integration.
  • Define and prioritize product features around security, manageability, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
  • Develop and evangelize standards around disk encryption, secure boot, OTA updates, remote monitoring, and identity and access management for edge infrastructure.
  • Ensure the platform supports end-to-end supply chain integration, enabling customers to digitally order, ship, track, install, monitor, and service their equipment.
  • Interface with partners like AWS to maximize our use of edge technologies (e.g., Greengrass, IoT Core)

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in technical product ownership or architecture for IoT, edge computing, or embedded platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives, and balance competing priorities across business units.
  • Ideally you have gained hands-on experience in your previous roles in one or more of the following technologies:
    • Linux (Yocto, embedded variants)
    • Kubernetes, containerized workloads at the edge
    • AWS IoT services (Greengrass, IoT Core)
    • Embedded cybersecurity (disk encryption, secure boot, TPMs, certificates)
    • Network and distributed system architecture
  • Experience working with manufacturing teams or complex physical products
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in device fleet management and software lifecycle in industrial environments
  • Knowledge of industrial networking protocols (e.g. ModBus, OPCUA, CANOpen) and legacy system integration.
  • Familiarity with digital supply chain integration for physical product workflows (order to ship to install to service).
  • Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance aspects of cybersecurity for connected equipment.
  • Certified AWS Solutions Architect Professional, preferably with a specialty certification in Security or Network Administration or both. CCNA/CCNP or CKA certifications preferred.
