We are now orchestrating an international agile team of customer-oriented IT professionals and engineers initiated by the European Commission to subcontract highly specialized expertise in distinct fields related to Information Technology.

The contracting authority’s premises are located in Belgium, Luxembourg and within the project the intention is to subcontract IT professionals in hybrid mode (near-site or on-site) who will provide their services to various Directorate-Generals (DGs) of the European Commission and numerous European-based agencies.

The project covers a wide range of services related to information systems, including:  Development and support, Testing and quality assurance, Operations, Data-related services, Security, Interoperability and trans-European e-Government services, Digital business solutions.  

In summary, this project represents a significant effort to enhance IT services within the European Commission and continue digital transformation across Europe.

This is you

• At least 4 years of experience with Java
• Familiarity with database technology such as Oracle and H2.
• Experience with the following tools: Git, JIRA, Confluence, Bamboo, Nexus, Gradle, Jenkins and Sonar.
• Good knowledge and experience of code versioning tools such as Git, Bitbucket
• Good knowledge and experience with CI/CD principles
• Good knowledge of agile development principles.
• Good knowledge of architecture best practices and patterns.
• Good knowledge of web-services and microservices.
• Good knowledge of applications design.
• Ability to apply high quality standards.
• Very good communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Very good Analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Capability to write clear and structured technical documents.
• Ability to participate in technical meetings and good communication skills
  
  

This is your role

• Development of back-end website applications.
• Integration of user-facing elements developed by front-end developers with server side logic.
• Creation of servers and databases for functionality.
• Design and implementation of data storage solutions.
• Understanding and implementation of security and data protection.
• Optimization of the application for maximum speed and scalability.
• Design and develop APIs.
• Participating in the design and creation of scalable software.
• Writing clean, functional code on the front- and backend.
• Compile and analyse data, processes, and codes to troubleshoot problems and identify areas for improvement.
• Testing and fixing bugs or other coding issues.
• Meet both technical and consumer needs.
