Computer Scientist- Python and SQL Programmer

We are seeking a skilled Python and SQL programmer to optimize and extend a production data analysis tool. This role involves refining an existing Python script, consolidating distributed JSON files into an efficient data store, and integrating analytics into a Qt-based application with graphical reporting capabilities.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Debug and enhance a Python script used for analyzing production data, specifically resolving issues related to die location within wafers.
  • Design and implement a structured, scalable database using SQL or Parquet formats to support fast querying and large dataset handling.
  • Generate graph-rich, insightful reports that communicate key production trends and metrics.
  • Embed the data analysis and reporting functionality into an existing Python/Qt application through a robust API.
  • Optimize for performance to ensure smooth handling of large volumes of data


Location: Leuven, Flemish Region, Belgium


Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL
  • Strong experience with data mining and manipulation of large datasets
  • Familiarity with data formats such as JSON and Parquet
  • Experience with graphical reporting libraries (e.g., Matplotlib, Seaborn, Plotly)
  • Knowledge of Qt for Python (PyQt or PySide)
  • Exposure to JMP or Machine Learning techniques is a plus
