🚀 Senior Backend Engineer – Rust / Distributed Systems (Paris, Onsite)

We’re partnering with one of Europe’s most ambitious early-stage startups — founded by repeat entrepreneurs with a previous exit to a global tech giant.

They're building a new kind of social app — not another endless feed, but a platform that actually helps you meet your friends in real life. The product already has millions of users, and the team is growing fast.

We're now hiring one of the first backend engineers to join the team.

🔧 What you'll do

• Build and scale the backend systems and infrastructure that power the app, including real-time data syncing, event streaming, and cross-device consistency
• Work with Rust across the backend and a shared SDK used in both iOS and Android
• Help scale the platform to millions of active users, designing systems that are reliable, distributed, and observable
• Collaborate with mobile engineers to maintain a unified codebase across platforms
• Join a highly technical and product-driven team at a key moment

✅ About you

• You’ve worked with Rust (in production or serious open-source projects)
• You have experience with distributed systems in production — Kafka, Redpanda, ScyllaDB, etc.
• You enjoy working on data synchronization, networking, and real-time infrastructure
• You want to help build a product people use every day
• You’re comfortable working onsite in Paris with a fast-moving team

💸 Salary & Perks

• Up to €120k depending on experience
• Full stock options (BSPCE)
