Backend Engineer – Python & AI Agent Systems (3 Months Contract)

Note: This is a contract-based, fully remote opportunity. Payments are made based on actual hours worked. No paid leaves or benefits are included. The contractor must handle their own taxes and compliances.

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Python Engineer to help build and maintain production-grade systems powered by Large Language Models (LLMs). This is a pure software engineering role focused on backend architecture, API design, and intelligent system orchestration — not data science, annotation, or analytics.

You’ll be developing LLM-integrated systems using modern frameworks like LangChain or LangGraph, helping design scalable backend services that support AI agent functionality and intelligent workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement robust backend services and production APIs using Python
• Build and maintain LLM-powered systems, including RAG pipelines, agent workflows, and orchestration layers
• Integrate LLMs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic) into scalable services using frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, or similar
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure maintainability, observability, and performance in production systems
• Write clean, testable, and well-documented code for long-term scalability
  
  

Must-Have Skills

• 5+ years of experience as a backend or full-stack engineer (backend-focused)
• Strong proficiency in Python and API/service architecture
• Hands-on experience integrating LLMs into backend workflows
• Familiarity with LangChain, LangGraph, RAG pipelines, or similar frameworks
• Experience with production deployment, service scaling, and observability tools
• Clear communication skills and ability to thrive in distributed teams
