Research Assistant-Arabic

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Clinical Duties

• Recruits subjects to participate in research projects following specific inclusion/exclusion criteria.
• Participates in the development of and obtaining structured diagnostic interviews.
• Interview subjects, using structured interviews, to gather a variety of medical and psychiatric information.
• May handle blood samples from human subjects as required.
• Transfer research data from paper formats or EP records to digital form (Excel of SPSS).
• Review and compare the source documents with electronic input to ensure accuracy.
• Prepares and maintains detailed records, logs and summary reports of all procedures and results including graphs, scientific calculations and statistical analysis.
• Assist in the preparation and/or review of research documentation (e.g. for grant applications, research approval, research and conference papers).

Educational Duties

• Conducts literature search and reviews using the various mainframe and scientific platforms.
• Attends regular journal club meetings to present, discuss and evaluate current scientific literature.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE and SKILLS:

Academic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Science, Psychology, Nursing or health related field.

Experience Requirements:

• 2 years prior experience in research related field responsibilities that could be academicals or clinical (either as part of educational programs or during professional employment) or health related field.
• Prior sourcing experience in the Arabian Gulf region.
• Prior experience in a multi-cultural working environment.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time efficiently.
• Excellent English (written and spoken) skills are essential.
• Excellent Arabic (written and spoken) skills.
• Microsoft Office suite
• Other software as appropriate to field of research.
