What You’ll Be Working On:

• Designing and enhancing a large-scale payments platform that processes thousands of transactions per minute
• Navigating the unique technical challenges posed by global markets and varying payment requirements
• Creating a frictionless user experience while ensuring backend systems are secure and scalable
• Collaborating in a cross-functional team that values openness, experimentation, and continuous learning

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain complex web applications using modern JavaScript frameworks: React, TypeScript, Redux, Node.js
• Write reliable unit and integration tests with tools like Jest and Cypress
• Follow DevOps principles to deliver secure, scalable services
• Work with cloud platforms (ideally Google Cloud Platform) and implement modern observability practices including distributed tracing and structured logging
• Participate in agile rituals and contribute to solution design, technical discussions, and delivery planning

What You Bring:

✔️ 5+ years of relevant engineering experience

✔️ A pragmatic mindset with a focus on simplicity and maintainability

✔️ Expertise in JavaScript, React, Node.js, TypeScript, HTML, CSS

✔️ Proven experience designing or maintaining secure and scalable payment systems

✔️ Familiarity with cloud environments (GCP / AWS)

✔️ Strong communication and collaboration skills

✔️ Ability to learn from failures and continuously improve

Bonus Skills:

• Experience with e-commerce and online payment platforms
• Familiarity with deployment automation tools like Terraform and GitHub Actions
• Exposure to multi-market or international software rollouts
• Passion for improving the user experience through design and data

• Hybrid working in Randstad
• 12 month contract - view to extend
• Payroll including Holiday, Pension and Expenses benefits
• 70 - 90k Gross or 70-75 per hour on Payroll contract
