Head of Hardware

Quickly expanding Next-generation photonic hardware for extreme-performance data transfer and AI computer systems is being developed by a deeptech startup. With their unrivaled experience and commitment, we provide the most cutting-edge photonic technology to the market.

Tasks:

• Take the lead in developing the company's photonic integrated circuit (PIC)-based products for the datacom sector.
• Encourage field trials, lab testing, and proof of concept demonstrations.
• Oversee both internal and external research and development initiatives, liaise directly with our PIC team members and clients.
• Grow alongside us as we expand the business.

Requirements:

• Doctoral degree in Physics, Optics, Photonics, or similar subjects
• Five or more years of telecom or datacom industry experience
• Basic comprehension of coherent and incoherent optical transport systems, modules, and parts, such as coherent digital signal processing, optical transceivers, line systems, tunable lasers, MZ modulators, photodetectors, and trans-impedance amplifiers.
• Excellent proficiency in optical, mechanical, and electrical design for the creation of optical communication devices.
• Practical expertise with large-scale optical data connections
• Thorough understanding of the current optical communications market, including key companies, technology, and market segmentation.
• Familiarity with optical physical layer computer simulations of communication networks
• Proficiency in silicon photonics is highly advantageous.
• Proficiency in writing patents and creating IP strategies.
