NIQ is seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager Research Science to lead a high-performing, cross-functional team of machine learning engineers and research scientists. In this strategic leadership role, you will be responsible for guiding the development and deployment of cutting-edge AI and Generative AI solutions that power NIQ’s next-generation products.

You will oversee a team of talented professionals working across research, engineering, and productization, ensuring alignment with business goals and fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence. Your leadership will be instrumental in transforming advanced AI research into scalable, real-world applications that deliver measurable business impact.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a cross-functional team of Engineers, Data Scientists and Research Scientists.
• Define team strategy, set priorities, and align AI/GenAI initiatives with broader organizational goals.
• Oversee the full lifecycle of AI/GenAI projects—from research and prototyping to deployment and optimization.
• Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture that encourages innovation, continuous learning, and high performance.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, supporting their growth and development.
• Collaborate with product managers, data teams, and executive stakeholders to translate business needs into actionable AI solutions.
• Ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and maintainable AI systems and services.
• Promote responsible AI practices, including fairness, transparency, and ethical considerations.
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to maintain NIQ’s leadership in AI innovation.
  
  

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Engineering, or a related field (Ph.D. preferred).
• 8+ years of experience in AI/ML, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
• Proven experience leading large-scale AI projects from conception to deployment, including cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management.
• Proven experience managing cross-functional AI teams and delivering complex, high-impact projects.
• Strong technical background in machine learning, deep learning, NLP, and generative AI (e.g., LLMs, diffusion models).
• Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, and Hugging Face Transformers.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred), MLOps, and scalable data pipelines.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
