Back End Developer

We're looking for a Back-end Developer to join our growing team at Festina Group Technology. If you're passionate about building robust server-side solutions, enjoy optimising performance, and love working in cross-functional teams—this is your chance.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for the server-side logic and architecture that powers our connected products. You’ll collaborate closely with front-end developers, system administrators, and designers to ensure our web applications are fast, scalable, and reliable.

• Develop and maintain scalable, secure, and functional server-side applications
• Write clean, reusable code and troubleshoot existing applications
• Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements
• Manage performance optimisation and refactor legacy systems with modern tools
• Participate in the full software lifecycle, from design to deployment
• Liaise with internal teams to gather requirements and identify new features
• Support internal stakeholders and contribute to documentation and training

• Solid experience as a back-end developer with a strong understanding of web application architecture
• Proficiency in Java and SQL (MySQL), with hands-on experience building scalable server-side logic
• Familiarity with front-end fundamentals (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to support smooth integration with UI teams
• Experience working with CMS frameworks (such as Strapi, Directus or simulaire) and integrating third-party APIs
• Good understanding of databases, both relational and non-relational
• Knowledge of version control tools like Git (we use GitLab) and modern development environments (e.g., Visual Studio Code)
• Awareness of best practices in performance testing, code security, and scalable system design
• A collaborative mindset, strong analytical skills, and a proactive, problem-solving approach
• Bonus: Experience or familiarity with Angular
