Job Overview:

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Navigation Developer with strong Android development experience to join our team for a prestigious Truck OEM client based in Eindhoven, Netherlands. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in Android Java SDK, embedded diagnostics, and vehicle communication protocols (e.g., J1939, CAN bus). This role offers an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of mobile technology and vehicle systems, contributing directly to next-generation in-truck navigation and infotainment systems.


Key Responsibilities:


- Design, develop, and maintain Android applications related to vehicle navigation and infotainment.

- Work with Android SDK and AOSP to build custom solutions integrated into in-vehicle systems.

- Utilize Android debugging tools such as ADB, dumpsys, logcat, etc., to troubleshoot and optimize system performance.

- Collaborate with embedded systems teams to interface Android apps with vehicle networks (J1939, CAN

bus).

- Implement communication interfaces for gathering and utilizing vehicle diagnostic and telemetry data.

- Develop scripts or utilities using Python for automation, testing, or data analysis purposes.

- Participate in Agile/Scrum development cycles - including sprint planning, code reviews, and retrospectives.

- Maintain version control and collaboration through Git (pull requests, branching, versioning, etc.).

- Work closely with UX designers, hardware teams, and product managers to deliver a seamless user

experience.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

- 8+ years of experience in software development with a strong focus on Android (Java).

- Proficient with Android SDK, AOSP, and Android debugging tools (adb, dumpsys, etc.).

- Strong understanding of vehicle communication protocols - J1939, CAN bus.

- Hands-on experience working with diagnostic data, CAN frames, or embedded automotive systems.

- Working knowledge of Python - scripting, basic automation, and data parsing.

- Solid experience with Git and collaborative development workflows.

- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and modern CI/CD pipelines.

- Strong problem-solving abilities and ability to work independently.

- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.


Nice to Have:

- Experience working with navigation systems or IVI (In-Vehicle Infotainment).

- Understanding of HMI frameworks and integration of sensors, GPS, or mapping SDKs.

- Experience with C++ or Kotlin in an Android environment.

- Prior experience in OEM, Tier-1, or automotive supplier ecosystem.

- Exposure to automotive safety standards (e.g., ISO 26262).
