Technology Innovation Institute (TII) is a publicly funded research institute, based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. It is home to a diverse community of leading scientists, engineers, mathematicians, and researchers from across the globe, transforming problems and roadblocks into pioneering research and technology prototypes that help move society ahead.

We are seeking a passionate and highly skilled UX/UI Developer / Designer to design, prototype, and deliver user-centric digital experiences for TII’s internal platforms, AI tools, and ERP-integrated applications. The ideal candidate will combine design thinking, technical implementation ability, and a deep understanding of enterprise workflows to build intuitive, accessible, and scalable systems that align with the institute’s scientific and business goals.

Responsibilities

UX Research & Design

• Conduct user research, stakeholder interviews, and task analysis to understand business and user needs.
• Create journey maps, personas, and detailed UX workflows.
• Design wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes (using Figma, Adobe XD, or similar tools).

UI Development & Implementation

• Translate designs into responsive, pixel-perfect, accessible front-end code using frameworks such as React, Vue.js, or Angular.
• Develop reusable components and design systems that are consistent across products.
• Work closely with backend developers to ensure seamless data flow and UI integration.

AI & Enterprise Integration

• Collaborate with AI teams to design intuitive interfaces for model configuration, inference interaction, and visual output.
• Design UX workflows that accommodate complex ERP data and integration points (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
• Ensure design patterns support both technical complexity and user clarity.

Usability & Testing

• Plan and conduct usability testing sessions to validate designs.
• Collect and analyze user feedback and analytics to drive design improvements.
• Iterate quickly based on feedback and evolving business requirements.

Collaboration & Governance

• Work in agile teams alongside developers, QA engineers, DevOps, and product managers.
• Help enforce UI consistency and maintain TII’s internal design guidelines and libraries.

Requirements

• Experience designing interfaces for AI/ML platforms or data science tools.
• Familiarity with tools like Storybook, Tailwind CSS, or Material UI.
• Working knowledge of agile software development processes.
• Design system management experience.
• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science, or a related field.
• 3–6 years of hands-on experience as a UX/UI Designer or Developer in a product-focused or enterprise environment.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating experience in designing enterprise-grade systems or data-intensive interfaces.
• Expertise in design tools: Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, InVision, Axure.
• Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), and modern JS frameworks (React, Vue, or Angular).
• Familiarity with REST APIs and integrating UI with back-end services.
• Understanding of ERP systems and enterprise UX challenges is a strong plus
