Senior Manager - AI

We are looking to hire a Senior Manager – Artificial Intelligence who will lead the design, development, and deployment of AI-driven solutions. This role will be critical in solving complex business challenges using machine learning, computer vision, and natural language processing techniques for our client based in Dubai- which is one of the largest companies in the region.

This position is a contract role with an initial duration till the end of the year and is renewable for the next year as well.

The role sits within the Technology department and reports directly to the Vice President -- Technology.

Key responsibilities:

AI Model Development & Deployment

• Design, develop, and implement advanced AI models (e.g., NLP, deep learning, reinforcement learning, computer vision).
• Optimize models for performance, including hyperparameter tuning and compression.
• Work with engineering teams to integrate models into production systems.

Data Pipeline & Preprocessing

• Build robust data pipelines and workflows to support model training and real-time inference.
• Prepare and clean large datasets using best-in-class data engineering practices.

Model Testing & Evaluation

• Run experimentation cycles and performance tests to ensure AI models meet accuracy and reliability standards.
• Troubleshoot issues and refine models based on business and technical feedback.

Strategic Collaboration & AI Roadmap

• Work with cross-functional stakeholders to identify AI use cases and drive value-based implementations.
• Support the development of AI strategy and contribute to future AI innovation across the business.

Mentoring & Knowledge Sharing

• Provide technical mentorship to junior data scientists and engineers.
• Stay updated with the latest trends in AI research and advise on tool and framework adoption

Knowledge, skills & experience:

• 7–10 years of experience in AI/ML, with 5+ years of hands-on development experience.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Strong programming experience in Python, Java, or C++.
• Deep knowledge of AI/ML algorithms, including supervised/unsupervised learning, DNNs, and reinforcement learning.
• Proficiency in AI frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Keras.
• Experience with data libraries (e.g., NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib) and visualization tools.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) for model training and deployment.
• Exposure to big data technologies like Hadoop or Spark is preferred.
• Understanding of MLOps practices and software engineering best practices (version control, unit testing, Agile, etc.).
• Excellent stakeholder communication and the ability to simplify complex technical ideas for non-technical audiences.
