Software Engineering Manager – Digital Health Platform

📍 Remote (Australia-wide) | 💼 Health Tech | 💰 $180K–$200K base

  • Enables patients to complete forms, access education, and receive checklists via secure links (no app required)
  • Supports remote onboarding, digital consent, risk screening, and payment collection

  • Delivers high patient engagement and reduces reliance on paper and phone calls

👨‍💻 The Role: Software Engineering Manager

Lead the acceleration of the product roadmap while maintaining quality and reliability. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on PHP development, team management, and technical strategy.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee design, development, testing, and deployment of scalable PHP applications
  • Champion best practices in code quality, reviews, CI/CD, and testing
  • Improve team velocity and streamline development workflows
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and stakeholders
  • Architect complex features and troubleshoot technical challenges
  • Stay up-to-date with PHP ecosystem trends


🧠 What You’ll Bring

  • Extensive PHP experience (ideally with frameworks like CodeIgniter)
  • Proven leadership in software development teams
  • Strong grasp of engineering principles, design patterns, and architecture
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum, CI/CD, and automated testing
  • Skilled in MySQL, Git, and RESTful API development
  • Front-end experience with Vue, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Familiarity with Docker and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Strong communication and mentoring abilities
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
