AI Engineer | Manufacturing Sector | GenAI & LLMs | Bielefeld (Hybrid)

AI Futures have been exclusively retained to appoint an AI Engineer for a leading manufacturing and industrial solutions provider based in Bielefeld. This is a hands-on technical position with exposure to presales, combining deep engineering skills with GenAI topics; particularly Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and automation use cases.

You’ll be part of a forward-thinking team focused on building AI-powered tools that solve real-world problems in complex manufacturing environments.

Hybrid: 2 days per week onsite in Bielefeld

Remuneration: Up to €120k total package

The Role

• Design and implement GenAI applications with a focus on LLMs, NLP, and industrial automation
• Translate business and operational challenges into AI use cases with measurable outcomes
• Build scalable data pipelines and AI prototypes using Python and modern ML toolkits
• Support presales activities, including technical scoping and solution design in client-facing settings
• Evaluate and integrate third-party AI platforms and open-source tools
• Contribute to MLOps workflows and ensure continuous model improvement and deployment readiness

The Candidate

• 2+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering or applied data science roles
• Strong understanding of GenAI and LLM frameworks (e.g. transformers, embeddings, RAG)
• Proficient in Python and libraries like Hugging Face, LangChain, or scikit-learn
• Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Ability to collaborate in agile, cross-functional teams across product and operations
• Fluent in German (English an advantage)
• Confident engaging with clients and contributing to early-stage solution design
