About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join their internal IT Data team, a key division responsible for managing and advancing the company’s data infrastructure. This team of 30 includes Data Engineers, Data Analysts, and Project Managers who collectively build and maintain an Enterprise Data Platform that supports:
- A Data Vault 2.0 Warehouse
- Python/SQL and Talend pipelines
- Reporting environments in Power BI (cloud) and SAP BO
- Business and regulatory reporting
- Datalabs and a centralized Data Hub
The platform will gradually transition to a cloud-based solution in the coming years.
Your Role
As a Data Engineer, you will design and implement reliable data pipelines and develop strategic Datamarts to support business objectives (e.g., BI, financial reporting, regulatory needs, and data integrations). You’ll also contribute to the cloud migration of the Data Platform, potentially toward a Snowflake solution.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines.
- Build and optimize data transformations to meet business and regulatory needs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams using Python, SQL, and Git.
- Implement and drive CI/CD best practices.
- Continuously improve data flows and platform functionality.
Your Profile
The ideal candidate will bring at least 3-5 years of data engineering experience.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and Git for scalable data processing.
- Experience building high-performance data pipelines.
- Strong understanding of Data Warehouse concepts and CI/CD principles.
- Problem-solving skills and an understanding of business data challenges.
Preferred Experience
- Knowledge of Data Vault 2.0, Snowflake, Azure, or Oracle.
- Familiarity with Power BI, Talend, and Agile methodologies.
- Experience in the banking sector is a plus.
Languages
- English (professional proficiency); Dutch or French is an advantage.
