Senior Backend Developer

I am currently working with a Dublin based travel company that is expanding their backend engineering team. Over the past year, the company has seen consistent growth across their tech department, and they’re now looking for a talented and experienced Senior Node.js Developer to help drive forward their platform and backend services. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about scalable backend systems, enjoys working in collaborative environments, and is motivated by building products that connect people through travel. The role offers flexible hybrid working in Dublin.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop scalable and maintainable server-side applications using Node.js
• Collaborate with front-end developers, product managers, and DevOps to build robust APIs and services
• Optimise backend performance and ensure high availability of the platform
• Write clean, testable code and participate in peer reviews
• Contribute to architectural decisions and mentor junior developers on the team
• Stay up to date with backend technologies and best practices

Requirements:

• 4+ years of professional experience in backend development, primarily using Node.js
• Strong understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript
• Experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL services
• Familiarity with cloud services (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Proficient in working with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
• Experience with Git and version control workflows
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
