Kafka Engineer

We are currently seeking a Kafka Engineer with a strong background in designing and operating real-time data streaming systems. This is a unique opportunity to work with a renowned financial institution, contributing to critical infrastructure that powers large-scale, high-throughput data flows.

Missions

  • Design and deploy robust and scalable Kafka clusters to support business-critical, real-time streaming applications
  • Monitor and maintain the Kafka ecosystem, ensuring high availability, performance, and data integrity
  • Resolve issues related to Kafka infrastructure, ingestion, and stream processing in a timely manner
  • Apply industry best practices for security, compliance, and data governance in the Kafka environment
  • Collaborate with DevOps, Data, and Application teams to design end-to-end streaming solutions
  • Stay informed on the latest Kafka developments and contribute to the continuous improvement of the platform
  • Provide administration and operational support for IBM MQ Series (patching, monitoring, queue/channel management, etc.) as needed

Profile

  • Solid experience managing Kafka clusters in production environments, ideally in large-scale or regulated industries
  • Proficiency in Kafka internals, architecture, and ecosystem components (Kafka Streams, Connect, Schema Registry, etc.)
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of Confluent Kafka and Confluent Cloud platforms
  • Proficiency in Java for developing streaming applications; Python or Scala is a plus
  • Practical experience in administering IBM MQ Series is a strong asset
  • Competent in scripting with Bash, Python, or PowerShell
  • Experience with DevOps tools and workflows: GitHub, Jira, Nexus, Azure DevOps, Splunk
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as TerraForm and Ansible
  • Comfortable working in Linux environments
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical and business teams
  • Autonomous, proactive, and eager to learn and grow in a dynamic, high-stakes environment

Recruitment process

  • The pre-qualification interview with our Recruitment Manager
  • Receipt of our salary proposal / exclusivity agreement
  • 2nd interview with our Business Manager
  • Proposal of your application to the client
  • Interview at the client's premises, which can be conducted either by video or in person
