Machine Learning Engineer (relocation to Belgium)

We are looking for a Machine Learning Engineer who is willing to relocate to join our Client’s team in Brussels, Belgium.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Data Scientists to design ML solutions that account for production constraints such as infrastructure, data ingestion, synchronicity, and business requirements (e.g. latency, throughput).
• Automate machine learning pipelines to enable seamless deployment into production environments by building Docker or VM images, implementing unit, regression, and integration tests.
• Integrate existing ML models into robust, industrial-grade pipelines that ensure reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
• Work closely with IT production teams to configure the target environments and support continuous delivery of AI services.
• Ensure deployed models are properly monitored for technical and business performance, handle errors effectively, and support automated retraining where needed.
• Facilitate communication between AI & Analytics teams and IT operations to ensure alignment across the deployment lifecycle.

Required Qualifications:

• Strong hands-on experience in containerization and virtualization (e.g., Docker, VMs).
• Proficiency in Python and in using package management and dependency management tools.
• Familiarity with AI development platforms and integrated development environments (IDEs).
• Expertise in CI/CD pipelines, particularly with GitLab CI.
• Experience with code, model, and data versioning.
• Knowledge and practical use of PostgreSQL databases.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience integrating systems across varied technologies and infrastructure components, including distributed and mainframe environments.
• Familiarity with ELT/ETL tools and big data processing frameworks such as Spark.
• Understanding of model compression techniques to optimize performance.
• Experience with data flow processing and data visualization tools.
