Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field required. At least 1-2 years of relevant work experience in information technology or cybersecurity support. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Understanding of higher education security and privacy requirements. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Motivated to learn and grow within a team environment. Demonstrated understanding of, sensitivity to, and respect for the academic, cultural and social diversity in the Hofstra University community.
Preferred Qualifications
Entry-level certification such as CompTIA Security+, CySA+, or similar preferred. Pursuit of certifications like CISSP , CEH , or similar is encouraged. Basic knowledge of networking concepts ( TCP /IP, DNS , VPNs). Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, Linux) and scripting basics (e.g., PowerShell, Bash). Familiarity with various security tools ( NMAP , etc.).
