Job Title: Android Engineer
Location: Remote (Must reside in UK)
Remuneration: £57.69 - £62 per hour (Dependent on experience)
Contract Details: 6 months
Responsibilities:
- Stay ahead of industry trends in computing technology, assessing and developing new technologies within our client’s roadmap. 🚀
- Empower teams to deliver best-in-class experiences for current and upcoming products.
- Enhance OS internals and set the technical direction for significant improvements.
- Build tools, system architecture, frameworks, and infrastructure impacting VR and AR product lines, focusing on operating systems and kernel development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, specify interfaces for new software frameworks, and upgrade existing frameworks. 🤝
- Develop APIs in system-level frameworks that enable compelling and performant use cases.
- Elevate coding and design skills within the team through reviews and best practises. Model behaviours through clean, readable code, upfront debug-ability, and testability.
- Communicate complex features and systems clearly while advocating for higher product quality and engineering efficiency. 📈
Minimum Qualifications:
- Software development experience, preferably in Android, Linux, or MacOS internals.
- Experience developing in areas like Operating Systems, AOSP, or device management on iOS/Android.
- Proficient in C++ and Java coding.
- Experience with embedded systems coding, including work on chips.
- Extensive experience with Android internals, AOSP, Android SDK, and NDK.
- Familiarity with Android performance tools and security models.
- Experience developing software for mobile platforms (Android/iOS). 📱
- Knowledge of Android UI frameworks and services.
- Expertise in unit testing frameworks like JUnit.
