Senior Full-Stack Developer - Insurance Systems

Location: Liège or Brussels, Belgium

Work Environment: Hybrid / On-site

Languages: French & English (both required)

We are currently supporting a leading insurance provider in hiring an experienced Senior Full-Stack Developer to strengthen their in-house development team. You will help modernize and maintain internal systems that support the life insurance platforms, contributing directly to their technical evolution and delivery excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, full-stack applications
• Improve SDLC maturity by promoting best practices: Agile, CI/CD, testing, and clean code
• Participate in technical feasibility studies and collaborate on functional/technical analysis
• Work closely with architects, operations, and infrastructure teams to deliver secure and efficient solutions
• Contribute to code reviews, documentation, and the refinement of user stories
• Optionally support:
• Legacy system integration (e.g., COBOL-based APIs)
• Individual life policy systems (e.g., UL3 platform from Vereycken & Vereycken)

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in full-stack software development
• Strong hands-on expertise with at least a few of the following languages/frameworks:
• Java, Python, .Net, C#, Node.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, PHP, Ruby, Go, Delphi
• Comfortable working across frontend and backend systems
• Experience with Microsoft Power Platform tools (Power Apps, Power BI, Power Automate)
• Fluent in both French and English, written and spoken
• Experience in the insurance or financial services domain is strongly preferred
• Strong communication skills, ability to work independently and collaboratively
